2012 Small Business Influencer Top 100 Award – Yay!

It seems that I’m on a roll this year. After recently winning the best business book of the year for my latest book (Own Your Niche) by the Global Ebook Awards, I was honored as one of the Top 100 Small Business Influencers by Small Business Trends! This came as a pleasant surprise and I am grateful for the recognition. I will be attending the awards gala in New York on October 17, 2012, and also speaking at the big NY Small Business Expo that afternoon.

Feeling pretty darn grateful to be honored for doing the stuff I love to do every day!

I’m very happy to announce that my latest book, Own Your Niche: Hype-Free Internet Marketing Tactics to Establish Authority in Your Field and Promote Your Service-Based Business, was awarded as Best Business Book of the Year at the Global Ebook Awards ceremony this past weekend. Over 200 attendees enjoyed an excellent presentation and dinner at the University Club in Santa Barbara–it was a fantastic event! I am grateful for this acknowledgement and the over 200 judges who participated in the selection of this year’s winner.

I have been using, teaching, and writing about internet marketing strategies for years and I’m often asked for referrals to social media marketing companies. Unfortunately, I’ve had a hard time making those referrals because I’ve heard so many lousy reviews from people who have used these services.

After much consideration, I decided it was about time we add social media marketing services to the menu at Authority Publishing. Though the majority of our clients are authors and industry experts, we also work with a select number of small businesses. I have been writing social media marketing plans for businesses for years, and it’s long overdue that we make these management services available.

We are getting great results for our clients by increasing website traffic and growing audiences on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google+, and Pinterest. The Sacramento Speakers Network – Join Us

The Sacramento Speakers Network is a group I started 5+ years ago with just four people at a local Starbucks. It began because I wanted to network with other speakers, and it has evolved to include 750+ members and active, energetic monthly meetings!

We meet the first Wednesday night each month from 6:30 to 8:30pm at the Doubletree Hotel in Sacramento. The meeting agenda includes brief introductions by all attendees, a guest speaker, and a special mastermind session where three attendees get to share a business issue or challenge and get feedback from members.
